2002 FIFA World Cup is EA Sports' official license for the tournament hosted by South Korea and Japan, with the national teams, stadiums, and format of that historic edition — the first held in Asia and the one that crowned Brazil five-time champion. It was released as a standalone title outside the annual FIFA series, built exclusively to relive the tournament.
Like any sports license of its time, it ages more as a time capsule than as a simulator: the names, the rosters, and even the 2002 broadcast aesthetic are frozen in place. Worth it for anyone who wants to revisit that World Cup through the eyes of the time, rather than looking for soccer depth.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
