Animaniacs: The Great Edgar Hunt arrived in 2005, developed by Warthog Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, based on the classic animated series about the Warner siblings. The game offered a third-person action platformer with Yakko, Wakko and Dot as protagonists, each with their own abilities, in an original plot centered on hunting down a character named Edgar. It also came out on PlayStation 2 and GameCube that same year, aimed mainly at the young audience following the show on TV. Critics called it a competent but not particularly ambitious production, consistent with the era's catalog of animated-show licenses.
