It grew out of the Angry Video Game Nerd phenomenon, James Rolfe's web series that reviews the worst games in history with humor and rage: as part of a crowdfunding campaign that produced several games styled after the character, this title pays tribute to the 2600's '80s-era boxing games with deliberately crude sprites and a comedic twist on the genre.
It's a modern homebrew, made by and for the retro community, more a gesture of affection toward the console than an attempt to innovate: the kind of cartridge that only exists because someone still takes programming for 1977 hardware seriously.
