Phantom Hourglass picks up directly with the Link from The Wind Waker and sends him on an adventure of island-hopping, dungeons, and the dreaded Temple of the Ocean King, with a control scheme built entirely around the stylus: tap to move, draw lines to attack, jot notes directly onto the dungeon map. It's one of the entries that best understood what DS could offer that no previous Zelda had, with an interface design still cited today as an example of how to design a game for touchscreen without betraying the identity of a twenty-year-old saga.
