Jaleco offers a breeding simulator where the player pairs creatures, manages their feeding, and enters them into competitions, chasing bloodlines with better stats. It reached Japan ahead of the digital-pet boom that would define the second half of the '90s. It never left the archipelago, but the system proved solid enough to spawn three sequels.
