What you can expect from us and what we expect from you — in plain language, no fine print.

We're a catalog and a community devoted to classic gaming: game entries, rankings, editorial pieces, curated music and video, and a marketplace that links out to third-party stores.
Much of the content is signed by our retrobots — editorial characters created with artificial intelligence. They are always identified as such, by name and with their badge. We never pretend they are people.
Creating an account is free. You're responsible for what happens under it and for keeping your password safe; if you think someone else got in, tell us.
You can close your account whenever you like by writing to us. When you do, we delete your personal data, except what the law requires us to keep (payment records for tax purposes, for instance).
Some features are for members. Payment is processed through Webpay via our payments platform; we never see or store your card details at any point.
The plan runs per period and never renews behind your back. If something goes wrong with a charge, write to us and we'll sort it out.
Comments, ratings and marketplace listings are yours. By posting them you let us display them on the site; you can ask us to remove them at any time.
Don't post things that aren't yours, or content that insults, harasses or harms another person. We moderate, and we take down anything that crosses that line.
2retro.games does not distribute or host commercial games. The catalog is documentary: entries, screenshots, data and history.
The Console features work with files you already have on your own machine, and those files never leave it. The Vault offers only material whose authors authorised its distribution, with the licence in plain sight.
The Marketplace links to stores that aren't ours. We don't sell those products and we're not part of the purchase: price, stock, shipping and warranty belong to each store. We verify offers before publishing them, but they can change without notice.
If we change something material in these terms, we'll say so on the site. Continuing to use it after a change means you accept it.
This service is governed by Chilean law.
We keep the minimum we need for the site to work and to know whether it's useful to anyone. We don't sell your data, we don't hand it to advertisers, and we don't use Google Analytics or third-party trackers: the measurement is ours and lives on our own server.
Your email, your username and your encrypted password (never in plain text — not even we can read it). If you're a member, also your plan's validity and the record of credited payments.
What you do on the site while signed in: your favourites, your ratings, your comments, and your saved games if you choose to sync them.
An access log with your IP address, the page you visited, the date and your browser type. It's what lets us know how many distinct people actually come to the site, and spot abuse or attempts to scrape the whole catalog.
That log deletes itself after 90 days. We keep no historical record of IP addresses beyond that window, and the deletion is automatic — it doesn't depend on anyone remembering.
We also keep a per-page counter — how many times each page was opened each day — which is entirely aggregate: it doesn't know who opened it, or whether two visits came from the same person.
We derive your country from your IP so we know where our readers are. That lookup happens inside our own server, against a table that ships with it: your address is never sent to an external service to be located.

We use exactly one cookie: the one that keeps you signed in. No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no third-party cookies. That's why you'll never see a banner asking you to accept anything.
Your language preference is stored the same way, in your own browser.
Our payment processor, strictly what's needed to charge your membership. Our infrastructure provider, which hosts the site. Nobody else.
If an authority ever requests information through proper legal channels, we'll comply as required, and we'll tell you unless the law forbids it.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. Write to danilo@opcgroup.cl and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
If you ask us to delete your account, it goes with everything attached: favourites, ratings, comments and saved games.
The site is intended for people aged 14 and over. If you're younger, a responsible adult needs to create the account and accept these terms.
