Doom is the Atari Jaguar port of id Software's first-person shooter, developed with direct involvement from John Carmack and released in 1994. At the time, it was the most faithful conversion of the MS-DOS original available anywhere on consoles, carrying over complete levels, enemies, and weapons from the source game.
Its technical quality made it one of the Jaguar's best calling cards and a compelling reason for shooter fans to justify buying the console, a status it still holds today among collectors of the catalog.
