Chicken Run adapts the Aardman and DreamWorks stop-motion film into an action platformer where the player helps organize the escape from Tweedy's farm, dodging guards and obstacles with the help of the film's various characters. It's a typical movie tie-in of its era, with a design meant to accompany the release rather than to innovate.
Today it holds the same limited appeal as most film licenses of the generation: interesting as a curiosity for fans of the movie, but far from the more ambitious platformers the console had to offer.
