One of the cartridges that accompanied Game Boy's 1989 launch. Nintendo takes the Breakout formula, wraps it in Mario's imagery, and adds stages with recognizable formations from the plumber's universe. Minimalist even for its time, but clean to control and hypnotic in its rhythm. A foundational piece of the best-selling handheld of its generation.
