Assassin's Creed - Altaïr's Chronicles, published by Ubisoft in 2008, places Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad before the events of the first home-console game, in an isometric-camera action adventure that adapts the saga's parkour, sword combat, and stealth to DS hardware.
It works as a lighter entry point into the Assassin's mythology for those who only had the handheld, and it remains one of the few franchise spin-offs that dared to completely redesign the gameplay system for a touch screen.
