It's an interactive adaptation of "The Dignity of a Woman," the book by essayist and former diplomat Mariko Bando that became a publishing phenomenon in Japan. Here the DS works as a reading and review tool, with quizzes and content organized to accompany the "juku," or self-improvement course. Today it survives as a catalog curiosity: self-help software made for the domestic Japanese market, with no ambitions as a video game, that illustrates well how broadly publishers used the handheld during its golden decade.
