Namco built the System 12 arcade board on architecture derived from the PS1, which is exactly why the home conversion arrived nearly intact — something unthinkable at the time. It marked the debut of Jin Kazama and Eddy Gordo, the capoeira fighter that half the planet picked while mashing buttons. With more than eight million copies sold and the bonus Tekken Force mode thrown in, it's still considered by many to be the greatest 3D fighting game ever made.
