Art of Fighting 3: The Path of the Warrior is the close of the trilogy SNK released in 1996 for the Neo Geo, set before the events of the first game and with Ryo Sakazaki as the central protagonist alongside a renewed cast. It introduced smoother animations than its predecessors and adjusted the combat system, moving away from the slower pace of the previous two entries.
It was relatively overshadowed by the King of Fighters phenomenon, which at the time was capturing SNK's and the public's attention, but it remains an interesting piece for understanding the studio's technical evolution in the nineties and the narrative origin of one of its longest-running characters.
