Chaos Strikes Back is the standalone expansion to Dungeon Master, published by FTL Games in November 1989, first for the Atari ST. It uses the same first-person, real-time engine that made the original a landmark, paired with refreshed graphics and an entirely different, far more demanding dungeon: players must gather four fragments of corbum, the material from which Lord Chaos draws his power, by making their way through four themed paths tied to the characters' disciplines. You don't need to have finished Dungeon Master to jump in, though knowing its grid-based movement rules, torch management, and alchemy certainly helps. It remains one of the most fondly remembered entries in the ST catalog for exactly that reason: it demands patience, paper mapping, and memory — a design exercise refined down to the bone that's still enjoyed today with the same reverence it always earned.
