Nintendo published F-1 Race in 1990, a rear-view single-seater racing game that was among the first of its genre on the handheld. Its big selling point was the Four Player Adapter accessory, which let up to four consoles compete linked by cable. Simple, direct, and an early demonstration of what handheld multiplayer promised.
