Fleet Commander VS. is one of those titles that only ever saw the light of day in Japan: a strategy game centered on fleet combat, built for short, direct matches, as the handheld format demanded. It never crossed the Pacific or left a mark in the specialized press of the time, so much of its design went undocumented outside its home market.
Today it survives as a curiosity for those tracing Game Boy's complete catalog: it changed nothing, but it's a good reminder of how much niche production coexisted alongside the console's big releases.
