A Game Boy adaptation of the Flintstone family, published by Taito, sending Fred to a treasure island populated by prehistoric enemies. The game bets on a classic side-scrolling platformer, with jumps, throwable objects, and art that instantly recognizes the Hanna-Barbera characters even in four shades of gray.
It's a licensed title with no great ambitions, but an honest one: it knows what it wants to be and delivers it in short sessions. Today it works as a time capsule, a snapshot of a moment when every TV cartoon had its pocket version, and one of the better places to see how that assignment got handled with craft.
