WayForward released its half-genie hero, the dancing genie of Sequin Land, in June 2002, when the Game Boy Advance already ruled the market. That suicidal timing doomed it commercially but forged its cult status: cartoon-worthy sprite animation, dance-based transformations, and bonus features if played on GBA. The original cartridge went on to fetch hundreds of dollars before its digital re-releases.
