Doubutsu no Mori e+ is the expanded Japanese edition of Animal Crossing, developed by Nintendo EAD and released in 2003 as an update to Doubutsu no Mori+ (the basis for the Western version), with more furniture, fish and insect species, seasonal events, and NPC characters than previous editions. Village life -fishing, collecting, decorating the house, chatting with animal neighbors- remains the heart of the experience. It's the most complete version of the first Animal Crossing entry, though it never left Japan: for those who enjoyed the Western edition, it represents a sort of 'director's cut' that goes even deeper into the unhurried leisure that made the saga famous.
