Buck Bumble puts the player inside the body of a cyborg bumblebee that flies and shoots through settings full of hostile insects and colossal bosses, with a concept as strange as it was memorable for its time. It was developed by Argonaut Software, the British studio that had helped Nintendo create the Super FX chip and the first Star Fox, and that brought to this project its experience with three-dimensional flight and polygonal graphics.
It never had the impact of other shooters on the console, but its thematic rarity and technical craft turned it, over time, into one of those cult pieces N64 collectors seek out with special fondness.
