Like the rest of the extensive low-cost "1500 DS Spirits" line (sold at 1500 yen, hence the name), this fifth entry dedicated to shogi offers the classic Japanese board game in its most functional form: clear rules, different difficulty levels against the machine, and the option to play against another person on the same console.
It's utility software aimed at shogi enthusiasts looking for a no-frills portable version, with no narrative or characters: just the board, the pieces, and the AI, in keeping with the austerity that defined the whole series.
