Bratz burst onto the scene in 2001 as a direct response to Barbie, with dolls featuring exaggerated traits and a more urban aesthetic, and quickly extended its brand into videogames, cartoons, and films. "Ponyz" brought those protagonists into the equestrian-simulation genre then at its peak on DS, centered on horse care, training, and competitions.
It's one more of the huge number of crossovers between doll franchises and pet or horse simulators that characterized the console's "for girls" catalog during those years.
