Developed by Rockstar Leeds, Chinatown Wars returns the series to the aerial perspective of its origins to tell the story of Huang Lee in Liberty City, amid a war between triads, and uses the stylus for all kinds of interactions — from hotwiring a car's ignition to mixing drugs — that no other GTA had offered before.
It was hailed as one of the best games in the series and on all of DS, surprising even those who doubted GTA could work on a family-friendly handheld. It still holds up fully today, with mission and open-world design that has aged better than many home-console GTAs of the era.
