Few NES games spark as much debate: LJN's Friday the 13th puts six counselors in charge of defending a camp while Jason strikes without warning, in cabins, lakes, or trails. Its open structure and survival tension were misunderstood in 1989; today it reads as a proto-survival-horror game. Clumsy and fascinating at once — pure '80s cult status.
