Bakuretsu Soccer ('Explosive Soccer') offers an over-the-top, arcade version of the beautiful game, with plays and effects far removed from realism. It joins the Japanese tradition of turning sports into genres with touches of fantasy and comedy. Like much of these niche titles, it never left the Japanese market.
