Castlevania Chronicle - Akumajou Dracula is the Japanese edition of the PlayStation remake of the first Castlevania, which debuted in 1986 on the Famicom Disk System, not in arcades. The direct basis for this version is the 1993 remake for the Japanese computer Sharp X68000, with renewed graphics and the option to switch between the classic and modern styles. Konami thus revisited one of the saga's foundational pillars for the 32-bit generation.
