428: Fuusa Sareta Shibuya is the PSP version of the sound novel Chunsoft originally released on Wii in 2008, set in a real, scene-by-scene photographed Shibuya, where police seal off the district after a kidnapping and several interwoven stories — an idol, an investigator, a costume shop clerk, among others — move forward in parallel based on the player's choices. It's the work of the same studio behind the Kamaitachi no Yoru series, and it became famous as the first title to score a perfect 40/40 in Famitsu magazine.
The PSP version brought that cross-branching structure to Sony's handheld, keeping the use of real photographs instead of illustrations, something rare even today. For anyone interested in Japanese interactive storytelling it's a required stop, though its reliance on Japanese text makes it an experience aimed almost exclusively at that audience.
