AI Shougi is, as the title suggests, a program for playing shogi (Japanese chess) against an AI, in line with the many tabletop and training titles Sony and third parties published to round out PSP's Japanese catalog between more ambitious releases.
It doesn't chase the spectacle of other genres: it's a practice and entertainment tool for shogi enthusiasts who wanted to carry the board in their pocket.
