It's not a stripped-down version of the Mega Drive game but its own adventure, developed by Ancient with music by Yuzo Koshiro: exclusive levels like the jungle and the bridge, emeralds hidden throughout the stages, and a delightful balance between speed and exploration. It was also the built-in game on many European Master System II units. A small classic with a big identity all its own.
