An 8-bit sequel with drama all its own: Robotnik kidnaps Tails and Sonic sets off to rescue him through levels packed with hang gliders, mine carts, and underwater bubbles. More ambitious and tougher than the first game, it shone on both Master System and Game Gear. Its opening act in the mines remains an emotional memory for an entire generation of European players.
