Aaargh! was born in 1987 for Mastertronic's Arcadia arcade machines and from there jumped to home computers, including the Atari family, courtesy of Melbourne House. The premise is pure monster movie: the player controls a giant dinosaur or ogre who razes buildings in search of Roc eggs while competing with the other colossus to grab the loot, up to a final showdown in a volcano.
It is one of those games that sum up well the B-movie humor so loved in British software of the late 80s: no narrative ambition, but with a premise so direct that it still raises a laugh today. It is best enjoyed with two, competing to see who levels the most, fastest.
