Aqua Jack puts the player on a top-down jet ski, navigating canals and coastal areas while firing a harpoon at pirates, sea creatures, and other dangers. The fluid movement over water and the use of a steering wheel as a control give it its own identity within Taito's late-80s action catalog.
It's a game remembered fondly today for its unusual setting — more adventure beach than battlefield — and for representing well that phase when Taito was exploring action variants with unconventional physical controls.
