Brick Blast picks up the formula of Breakout and Arkanoid, a paddle that bounces a ball against rows of blocks until clearing the screen, adding power-ups and level variations typical of the huge number of block-breakers produced from the 80s onward.
It doesn't add much to the formula Atari kicked off and Taito perfected, but it remains a direct, addictive pastime within the subgenre.
