Crazy Balloon has the player steering a box tied to a balloon that sways from side to side nonstop, inside a maze strewn with spikes: the goal is to guide it to the exit without touching any spike or being caught by the enemies patrolling the scenario. Taito released it in 1980, at a time when the maze genre was still finding its shape before Pac-Man consecrated it the following year. It's an early curiosity in Taito's catalog, with a physical control scheme —the constant swaying of the balloon— uncommon even within the maze genre of its own era.
