Dark Seal II —known outside Japan as Wizard Fire— is the sequel to the original 1990 Dark Seal (Gate of Doom) and keeps the same fantasy action formula in isometric perspective for up to two cooperative players, with five available characters: knight, bard, dwarf, elf, and wizard, each with their own combat style and spells. Data East released it in 1992, with cartoon-style animated cutscenes between levels. It's an arcade dungeon crawler little remembered outside the circle of Data East fans, but interesting for its narrative ambition —full English and Japanese voice acting included— in a format that rarely ventured so far into epic fantasy territory.
