Empire City: 1931 is an action arcade game SNK published in 1986 (developed by Alpha Denshi), set in a fictional New York during the Prohibition era, with the player facing armed gangster gangs on an urban route evoking classic film noir. It's one of the titles preceding the studio's consolidation with the Neo Geo.
It's a rarity within SNK's early catalog, little remembered today, but interesting for its specific period setting, different from the science fiction and martial arts that predominated in mid-80s action arcades.
