AirCars arrived in 1997, in the final and almost ghostly stage of the Jaguar's commercial life, developed by MidNite Entertainment Group and published by the ICD label: armed flying vehicles competing on futuristic tracks, in the vein of F-Zero or Wipeout but with much more artisanal development and very limited resources. It's one of those titles that document a console's ending, when Atari was no longer producing anything of its own and third parties were left sustaining the catalog. Today it's remembered more as a collector's item — among the hardest to find in the Jaguar catalog due to its minimal print run — than as a well-rounded racing experience, though it honestly delivers on its promise of speed and aerial combat.
