Attack of the Mutant Penguins came out in 1996, already in the Jaguar's final stretch, developed by British studio Sunrise Games and published by Atari Corporation: an absurd premise — radioactive penguins attacking cities — resolved with an isometric perspective and platforming and snowball-throwing mechanics. Its humorous tone sets it apart from much of the system's late catalog, more focused on serious action. It's one of the last games with dedicated development the console received before Atari merged with JTS and abandoned the hardware, and as such it works as a charming curiosity within a library that ended much earlier than expected.
