Desert Strike - Return to the Gulf is the Atari Lynx adaptation of Electronic Arts' celebrated action-strategy game, in which the player pilots an Apache combat helicopter through a series of missions set in a Middle East conflict, combining shooting, hostage rescue, and fuel and ammo management.
Its arrival on Atari's handheld confirms the weight the original 16-bit title carried, capable of spawning versions on nearly every platform of the era; on the Lynx it retains the characteristic tension of managing limited resources in the middle of combat.
