Mat Mania Challenge is the Atari 7800 adaptation of Taito's pro-wrestling arcade game, in which two wrestlers face off in the ring combining holds, punches, and aerial moves, with the exaggerated humor typical of 80s arcade wrestling.
Published by Atari Corp, it was part of the effort to fill out the 7800 catalog with conversions of popular arcade games of the era, in a genre —pro wrestling— that had scarce representation on the console.
