AeroGauge offers futuristic races of hovercraft floating over impossible tracks, in the vein of F-Zero and Wipeout, with boosts and limited combat between pilots. Development dragged on and got complicated enough that, according to industry legend, prank names ended up sneaking into the closing credits.
At the time it was overshadowed by more polished rivals in the same subgenre, but it's still a curious piece for anyone tracing the futuristic racing fever that F-Zero X set as the standard.
