All Star Tennis 99 offers tennis matches with generic characters and stadiums, simplified controls, and tournament modes, in line with the many sports games that filled N64's catalog without a major studio's name behind them.
It didn't leave a particular mark next to offerings like Mario Tennis, but as a period piece it portrays well how any console of that era needed its quota of racket sports to round out the catalog.
