It adapts the light suspense and everyday setting characteristic of Akagawa, one of Japan's most-read authors, with a murder case at the heart of the plot — "under the moonlight, the sunken bell murder." The game moves mostly through text and dialogue choices. It never left Japan, like much of the DS's mystery visual novels, a format the handheld supplied with a regularity the West barely got to see.
