Published by The Pokémon Company, it turned learning to type quickly into a capture game: each wild Pokémon was "caught" by correctly typing the word shown on screen, with increasing difficulty depending on the keyboard type. The cartridge was sold together with an unusual peripheral, a Poké Ball-shaped keyboard that plugged into the console's GBA port.
Outside Japan a western version was known under a different name, but this original edition is the one that defined the concept: turning a tedious skill into a pretext for hunting creatures.
