Boogie combines rhythm-guided dance minigames with karaoke sections and a character editor, aimed at a casual, family audience. Its home-console version included a microphone and motion controls; the DS edition adapts that festive concept to the handheld's touchscreen and built-in microphone.
It remained one of EA's many attempts to capture the 'casual' audience that dominated the sales charts during the Wii-DS era.
