Bubble Bobble is one of the pillars of 80s arcade gaming: two-player co-op, fixed screens, the mechanic of trapping enemies in bubbles and popping them to advance. This "Revolution" for DS revives that base with new levels, but also tries to add modern layers -stylus use, extra minigames- to justify its place on a later-generation console.
Reception was lukewarm: it's remembered more as a competent but uninspired attempt to update the formula than as a successful reinvention, in contrast to how well the original had aged.
