Konami's run-and-gun defined couch co-op: two players, endless bullets, and death in a single hit. In Europe it was sold in censored form as Probotector, swapping human soldiers for robots to get around German laws on violence. Its pseudo-3D corridor levels were technical witchcraft for 1988, and its home version actually outdid the arcade original, something almost unheard of at the time.
