Battle Spirit takes the "Spirit" concept that defined Digimon Frontier —the Chosen Children's evolution through spirit-based objects— and translates it into direct action combat. It's a niche product tailor-made for the audience that followed the anime at the time; its value today is mostly nostalgic, for anyone who lived through that specific season of the franchise.
