Boulder Dash was born in 1984 from First Star Software and reached MSX the following year, published in Japan by Comptiq under the name Champion Boulder Dash. The goal seems simple — guide Rockford through caves collecting diamonds — but the physics of the rocks, which fall and roll by their own rules and can crush the player if each step isn't calculated carefully, turned it into a school of precision and patience. Decades later it's still a required reference for the action-puzzle genre, and this MSX version is one of the many that spread its reach around the world.
