D1 Tamers follows the leads of Digimon Adventure 02 in an RPG adventure that keeps the digivolution-and-turn-based-combat structure typical of the franchise's games on late-90s Japanese handhelds. It's a product made for the audience following the anime in real time, with all the appeal and limitations of a license produced to launch alongside the show; today it's above all a nostalgic piece for that generation of fans.
